A short note from Gerard concerning the cancellation...
In light of the situation in which we all currently find ourselves, it is with real regret that I have to inform you that this year’s Dave Owens & Frank Goodall Memorial Fund Chatsworth Challenge has been cancelled. I have delayed making this decision in the hope that things would improve in time to allow our walk to continue, but I now reluctantly accept that such a turnaround is extremely unlikely.
For those of you who have already signed on and paid your entry fee I can do one of two things: -
• I can refund the money back to you, OR,
• I can open up the book for 2021 and sign you up for next year’s walk which will take place on Saturday 15th May 2021
Could you please let me know which of those two options you would prefer.
Some of you may well have already collected money from sponsors in which case I would ask you to simply return it to them. In all cases once you have returned any money would you please shred your sponsor forms. If you require any additional information or clarification please do not hesitate to contact me.
To leave some light at the end of the tunnel, it has occurred to me that once this is all behind us and things get back to normal (whenever that might be), I will choose a Saturday and invite anyone who would enjoy it to join me down in Baslow for a fun-walk around the nine mile route.
Until then, I would urge everyone to comply with the advice we are being given, and hope that we all stay safe and see this thing right through to the end.
Best regards
Gerard

amount raised to date after current walk year
Each year we donate specific allocations to the charities we support from the total funds raised from the annual sponsored walk.
This is currently 30% to each of the three main cancer charities, and 10% to the Oesophageal Patients Association.
NOTE: (*) Although there was no organised sponsorship for this year, a donation of £1,100.00 was received from Peter Mackie and Gerard Mitchell.
Thank you very much for the payment of £330.00 made form the Dave Owens & Frank Goodall Memorial Fund. Really appreciate your support even during these difficult times. I look forward to next year’s events being back to normal.
Thanks
